Yesterday was a nice, chill day for me. It was a non-run day so I got to spend some time doing other things … like hanging out with my friend Tony, who I hadn’t seen in ages. Tony and I grabbed a late lunch/early dinner at Joan’s on Third so that we could catch up on one another’s lives. He and I are going to try and reconnect for another hang sesh next week. Last night, I chilled on the couch and just relaxed. I wanted to save up my strength because today I’m taking a drive up to Bakersfield to see Morrissey in concert!

Y’all know how much I love Moz so it shouldn’t really come as a big surprise that I’m trekking out to see him. He played San Diego earlier this week on his birthday and then he plays Bakersfield tonight … no LA date so, road trip for me. Honestly, I’d drive almost anywhere to see the man in concert. He is truly one of my fave performers and I will never tire of seeing him in concert. I can’t wait!!

I hope all y’all have a great Friday and a great Memorial Day weekend to come!

Questions Will Be Answered (Allegedly) In Two 'Prometheus' Blu-ray Versions Sep 28th 2012, 17:00

Decisions, decisions. 20th Century Fox has released the artwork for the Blu-ray release of "Prometheus" and revealed that there are actually two versions of the release that fans can take home.

The first is a full four-disc collector's edition that includes the theatrical cut, 3D theatrical cut, DVD and digital copy of the movie, two sets of commentaries, the 15 minutes of deleted scenes we previously heard about and five special featurettes. The second, a two-disc release of the film, doesn't include the 3D or any of the special featurettes. Like we said: decisions, decisions.

Allegedly -- allegedly -- these special features will offer up answers to some of the many questions we had following the release of "Prometheus." There will be alternate opening and ending scenes, an explanation of whether "Prometheus" takes place on the same planet "Alien" does (in the first draft it did) and a tease about who the Engineers actually are.

"If we do a sequel to this prequel, we will find out who this race was," Scott promises in the Blu-ray trailer.

But is it too little too late? Damon Lindelof already gave us the sense at Comic-Con that there are answers to the many, many questions "Prometheus" raised, so we believe that Scott and his creative team has explanations for the film. But those should have in the film itself instead of in a likely pretty expensive four-disc home video set that we need to buy later. Despite our complaints we probably still will pick up this set if only so we get more of Michael Fassbender as David.

"Prometheus" lands on Blu-ray on October 9.

If you're a fan of arty crime movies, you definitely should check out the first 10 minutes from "Headshot," a Thai hitman film.

The opening sequence gives you a pretty good idea of the style of the movie, and it's ending nicely sets up the premise, which sees a cop-turned-assassin whose vision flips upside down after a job goes wrong.

"Headshot" will be available on iTunes starting on October 2.

There are probably a lot of people on the internet today telling you that you have to see "Looper." How did we know this, you ask? It's because anyone who has seen "Looper" will undoubtedly feel the need to spread the word of its sheer awesomeness, and we are no different.

Here are the five reasons you must see "Looper."

Joseph Gordon-Willis
One of the strongest elements in "Looper" is how realistic Joseph Gordon-Levitt makes the film's main conceit. By ten minutes in, we are no longer watching JGL in weird Bruce Willis makeup. Instead, we're enjoying Young Joe, who looks a lot like Old Joe, who happens to be played by Bruce Willis. Perhaps the best compliment we can pay JGL's performance is that it only adds to a brilliant concept and a near flawless execution without ever pulling us out of the experience.

Time Travel Logic and Conversations
In "Looper," Bruce Willis' Old Joe aggressively pushes aside any conversation about the semantics of time travel, but that isn't going to stop you and your friends from trying to parse out the logic behind Rian Johnson's world. The director claims his has a rules-based system for how his time travel works, but the intricacies of the plot don't make that explicitly clear. There is lots to discuss here after you leave the theater, or you can take Old Joe's advice, sit back, and enjoy one hell of a good movie.

That Creepy Kid
A young actor by the name of Pierce Gagnon plays a central role in "Looper" that never appears in the trailer and for good reason. The story of his character, Sid, has remained a secret thanks to a well thought out marketing campaign. Suffice it to say that because of Sid, Pierce has entered the pantheon of creepy cinematic children. From his too-intelligent line delivery to his big cheeks, the kid has all the hallmarks of a truly terrifying ten year-old.

Rian Johnson, Next Big Thing
Since 2005, Johnson has made three genre-bending films and with each has taken some of cinema's most tired tropes and alchemized something truly original. While each movie succeeded on its own terms, "Looper" will be the film that jettison's the director into the realm of the "highly sought after director." This is Johnson's "Batman Begins." You've been warned.

Dillahunt has made a career for himself as a character actor who enters a wide variety of films in small roles, never stays around for too long, but always makes them immeasurably better movies. "Looper" is no exception. That is all we'll say.

It's the final countdown: there are two days left for California governor Jerry Brown to sign the domestic workers' bill of rights. Let the governor know how you feel about this! Why? we've got the deets on why this is such an important issue.

So why should the domestic workers' bill of rights matter to you? In America, there are about 2.5 million domestic workers who don't get the basic rights that other people get from their jobs, like being paid at least minimum wage. MTV Act editor Alexis Tirado talks about her own mom's situation working as a housekeeper and nanny, and points out how this California bill would give domestic workers things like "Equal right to worker's compensation" and "Equal overtime pay." These are just basic things that you wouldn't even have to ask for in a perfect world.

But Alexis isn't the only one behind this. Some celebs are also getting involved, especially Amy Poehler, who's made a PSA for the National Domestic Workers Alliance. Octavia Spencer, who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in "The Help," also knows that you've got to, well, help the help.

The National Domestic Workers Alliance, which got started five years ago, is really leading the fight to help domestic workers and their rights. In fact, the NDWA got a big boost last weekend when they won in the Human Rights category at the Stay Classy Awards. The domestic workers' bill of rights (also known in boring political lingo as AB889) would be an important step forward for workers' rights, women's rights, and minorities' rights. We just need to get Gov Brown's signature -- and there's still time to let him know what's up.

Martin Freeman Joins Edgar Wright's 'The World's End' Sep 28th 2012, 20:00

Edgar Wright is bringing the whole gang back together in his final "Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy" film, "The World's End."

An official press release has gone out announcing that production has started on the movie and offering up the full cast for the flick. In addition to Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, we've learned that Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan and Rosamund Pike have joined the project as well.

Consider us thrilled about this Freeman news. Fans will know that he's been a regular in Wright's trilogy, having a small but memorable part as Declan in "Shaun of the Dead" and playing the Met sergeant who transfers Pegg's character to the country in "Hot Fuzz." We can only imagine what role he'll play here. Hopefully he'll end up getting a little more screentime than he did in the past, considering he's moved up a bit in the world thanks to leading roles in "The Hobbit" and BBC's "Sherlock."

The press release includes an official synopsis of "The World's End," elaborating what we already know about it.

"In 'The World's End,' 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again," the synopsis reads. "They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching The World's End is the least of their worries."

Kelly Clarkson has today unveiled her latest music video for her new single, Dark Side, and it is an intimate and emotionally driven portrayal into what appears to be a nod to Kelly’s past, and also just honest universal issues. The song opens with the lyrics, “there’s a place that I know, it’s not pretty, very few have ever gone..” and proceeds to show a young woman facing issues including an eating disorder, pill and alcohol addiction and a relationship breakdown, but it ends on a hopeful and inspiring note.
